Before and After #1: wooden sled turned wall art

Remember this old wood sled i found in the trash?

I cut part of it (because it was too long for what I wanted to do with it), I stained it with Minwax (I was a minwax stain virgin LOL) and this is what it is now:

Isn't it KEWL?!! Even DH loves it :) I like how it's become a conversation piece! But it's not just cute, it's functional! I put some of my new plants (we planted those at the garden center with my daughter's class!) in the curbed part! And the rest holds pictures! (Only one, above, put I've added a couple since)

This was my first time posting on Poppies At Play's Creative Cats Tuesday
Cant wait to check out everybody's stuff!!

They are all great! I love the sled hung with the plants! So inventive! The tool box is great too! It's so much better with the character shining through.

My jaw is on the floor! I absolutely love what you did and now I want an old sled. I think you should win an award for that.

What a great idea for a sled! It would look great hanging outdoors too. We get alot of snow around here (central British Columbia) so there's no lack of sleds around. Maybe I will copy your idea...if you don't mind!
Love your blog!
